Fence Raynell- Keshia Knight Pulliam (when she was still a child.)

The actor I chose to play Raynell is Keshia Knight Pulliam when she was a child. Raynell is a seven year old girl and daughter of Troy and Alberta (Troys Mistress). She is very young when troy dies so she didn’t much of an effect of knowing what kind of father troy unlike Cory and Lyon did. This shows that because Troy didn’t have enough time to have an impact of her life, then there is hope that she will have a better future then Troy did.

Fences Chris Rock as Gabriel Maxson

The actor I chosen to play Gabriel Maxson is Chris Rock. Gabriel Maxson is seven years younger than Troy. Gabriela had gotten hurt while fighting the war. He got a metal plate and now believes he is the archangel Gabriel and always talks about judgment day.(PG 1133)’’ The devil’s strong. The devil ain’t no pushover. Fences Will Smith as Cory Maxson

The actor I chose to play Cory is Will Smith when he was still a teenager. Cory is the son of Tory and Rose. He is a high school senior who plays football. His dream is to play Football while in college. The only problem is that his father Troy is against him playing football because Troy doesn’t want Cory to have his dream destroy like Troy dream was. No matter how hard he tries to convince his father, Troy doesn’t listen even though Cory coach needs him. ‘(pg 1126) ‘’ Come on, Pop! I got to practice. I can’t work after school and play football too. The team needs me. That’s what Coach Zellman say…’’

Fences Samuel Jackson as Troy Maxson

I chose Samuel Jackson to play the character of Troy Maxson. . Samuel Jackson would be able to play perfect because when Samuel as Troy talks about his life he would be able to sound very believable. Troy is a fifty-three year old African-American man with big hands. Troy is a character who had through his life a rough situation. It first comes from a father who raped a girl that Troy liked, to leaving his father and working just to survive. Troy while he tries to be different from his father he ends up pushing all of his friends and family away from him. Troy wants freedom more than anyone else and responds badly to those who have freedom like his son Lyon. Troy also talks of death and always said he talk or fought death. Troy defies death .(pg 1112) ‘’I say… What you want , Mr.Death? You be wanting me? You done brought your army to be getting me? I looked him dead in the eye. I wasn’t fearing nothing. I was ready to tangle.’’ .In the end Troy could only bring the family he broke apart together during his funeral.

Fences -Jada Pinket Smith as Rose Maxson

I chose Jada Pinket Smith to play the Character of Rose. Rose is ten years younger than Troy and is Married to Troy. .She is .a very beautiful women.When Troy and Rose were single Troy came to Rose wanted a fun night. However Rose wanted a man to marry and Troy agreed after thinking about it. She also makes Troy build a fence through-out the play. Rose is very attached to her family and is concern about them especially when it comes to Gabriel. (pg 1121) ‘‘He ain’t eating right. Miss Peral says she can’t get him to eat nothing’’ and (pg 1122) ‘’Seem like something ought to be done to help him.’’ Rose is also very forgiven. She still takes Troy back and the child he had with Alberta after his affair. .Jada Pinket Smith would be able to act both caring and strict at times when need just as Rose does.

Fences Eddie Murphy as Jim Bono

I would Choose Eddie Murphy to play the Character Jim Bono. Jim Bono is the type of person who is a follower and is a very loyal friend to Troy. He and Troy have been friends for about thirty years. Bono listens to Troy words like gold and wishes to be like him. Bono likes Troy hard-working spirit, the power he has in the household, and his honesty. Eddit Murphy would be able to act as the best friend type while also being serious like when Bono talks to Troys not to mess up his marriage with Rose for the affair with Alberta.’’I know you do. That’s why I don’t want to see you hurt her. But what you gonna do when she find out? What do you got then? If you try and juggle both of them...Sooner or later you gonna drop one of them. That’s common sense.’’

Fence Chris Tucker as Lyon

I chose Chris Tucker to play the character Lyon because he would be able to fit as a thirty-four musician. Lyon is Troys son from another marriage. Lyon comes to see troy whenever money is involved. Instead of working at a job like troy does Lyon only has his interest in music. .Music to him is life itself .As Lyon Chris tucker would be able to pull of the calm, cool type . Lyon is the type of person who enjoys freedom as much as he can and hates being told that he should work a normal job for his next meal as said in this quote. (pg 1116)- Make me feel like I belong in the world. I don’t bother nobody. I just stay with my music cause that’s the only way I can find to live in the world.’
